EFR – Emergency First Response Course – First Aid Course
As an approved first aid and CPR course, the Emergency First Responder, or EFR course, will only take one day. You will learn the basics of providing assistance to those who need it. Among other things, you will learn how to care for chocking victims and what to do against hypothermia, haemorrhaging and shock. You will learn how to open a victims airways, how to provide rescue breaths and CPR. You will further learn how to put a victim in a recovery position and monitor his/her state and control their breathing.
After your EFR course, you will know how to make a primary and secondary assessment in order to alert the emergency services. This way you are able to help, making their aid as efficient as possible.
A valid EFR certification or equivalent is prerequisite to the PADI Rescue Course and all following diving courses towards professional scuba diving. The EFR course is an internationally recognized first aid course that requires renewal every 2 years.
